Effective 3/17/2025, all permits, including Spring Restriction permits, must be submitted using the Oxcart permit website. No permit requests using the old permitting forms will be accepted or approved. You must create an account before you will be able to submit a permit request.

CRA 100 – Work within ROW (each operation) driveways, etc: $25.00
CRA 100 – Work within ROW (each operation) utility companies: $25.00
CRA 110 – Work within ROW (seasonal) utility companies, non-emergency work: $100.00
CRA 110A – Notification app (seasonal) utility companies non-emergency travel: $0.00
ICRC 100 – Work within ROW (annual) utility companies, maintenance work: $200.00
ICRC – Cab & Oversize / Overweight (single use): $50.00
ICRC – Cab & Oversize / Overweight (annual): $100.00
ICRC – Mobile Home Moves (single use): $50.00
ICRC – Mobile Home Move (annual): $100.00
ICRC – Restriction – Special (single use): $35.00
ICRC – Restriction – Haulers Exemption (seasonal): $8.00
NEW PERMITTING PROCESS!
Effective March 17, 2025, all permits, including Spring Restriction Load Exemptions, issued and authorized through the Iron County Road Commission, must be completed using the Oxcart Permit website. Any of the old permitting forms submitted after this time will not be accepted or approved.
The statutes of the State of Michigan authorize the Iron County Road Commission to issue special permits for the movement over county roads of vehicles or loads which exceed the size or weight limitations specified by law.
It is the purpose of the Iron County Road Commission to permit the movement of necessary overweight and oversize vehicles or loads consistent with the following obligations:
- Protection of the motoring public from potential traffic hazards
- Protection of road surfaces, structures, and private property.
Entities seeking to apply for a culvert permit, oversize/overweight permit, seasonal restriction permit, or permits required for work within the ROW for Iron County roads must use the Oxcart permitting software: https://www.oxcartpermits.com↗.
Processing fees will be added to the permit cost, and credit cards are the only form of payment accepted.
All permit requests must be submitted 24-48 hours prior to the desired move date. We cannot guarantee issuance otherwise, so please plan accordingly.
