Heavy Equipment Operator Temporary-Seasonal (Approx Nov. 1, 2026-April 17, 2027)
$26.23 per hour Nov-Dec 2026, $27.48 beginning Jan 2027. No fringe benefits outside of those required by the Michigan Dept. of Labor and Economic Opportunity. Weekdays 7a-3:30 pm, 40 hours/ week plus overtime as needed.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Operate heavy equipment—including quad‑axle and tandem‑axle trucks, graders, loaders, tractors, and excavators—with precision, efficiency, and strict adherence to safety standards.
- Perform snow and ice control operations, including plowing, sanding, salting, and clearing roadways during winter weather events.
- Carry out tree cutting, brushing, and vegetation management along roadways and rights‑of‑way to maintain visibility and safety.
- Complete roadside cleanup, debris removal, and general site maintenance as assigned.
- Conduct thorough pre‑trip and post‑trip inspections of all assigned equipment, identifying mechanical issues, fluid levels, tire conditions, and operational readiness.
- Follow all safety guidelines, PPE requirements, and operational protocols to maintain a safe work environment for yourself, coworkers, and the public.
- Collaborate with crew members to complete projects efficiently, meeting quality standards and project specifications.
- Maintain accurate daily logs, including labor hours, equipment usage, materials consumed, and inventory needs.
Winter Snow Patrol- Temporary-Seasonal (Approx Nov. 1, 2026-April 17, 2027)
$26.23 per hour Nov-Dec 2026, $27.48 beginning Jan 2027. No fringe benefits outside of those required by the Michigan Dept. of Labor and Economic Opportunity. Weeknights: Sun- Thurs. 7p-3am, 40 hours/week, subject to change.
Winter Snow Patrol-Seasonal Part Time/ Temporary-Seasonal (Approx Nov. 1, 2026-April 17, 2027)
$26.23 per hour Nov-Dec 2026, $27.48 beginning Jan 2027. No fringe benefits outside of those required by the Michigan Dept. of Labor and Economic Opportunity. Weekend nights: Fri & Sat. 7p-7a, 24 hours/week, subject to change.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Operate heavy equipment—tandem‑axle trucks, loaders-with precision, efficiency, and strict adherence to safety standards.
- Perform snow and ice control operations, including road patrol, plowing, sanding, salting, and clearing roadways during winter weather events.
- Complete roadside cleanup, debris removal, and general site maintenance as assigned.
- Conduct thorough pre‑trip and post‑trip inspections of all assigned equipment, identifying mechanical issues, fluid levels, tire conditions, and operational readiness.

Required Skills and Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) and a safe driving history required.
- Capability to work independently or as part of a team, often in challenging weather conditions such as heat, cold, rain, or snow.
- Successful applicants must possess a valid medical card/physical and pass a pre‑employment drug screening.
